A muddy ice smoothie slushes
under my feet detached
slipping
separate
from the earth my body
Small
God tears made solid
fall silent
and soft on my lashes
shifting shape
I shiver
spent
and silver
searching
for the sun who sleeps
Sipping
the salt and water that
drips
off my dry
desert lips
Somewhere
a southern sunrise
sings to me
smiling
saying…
“soon come”
